|
Project Snapshot
Date: 2010
Location: Rensselaer, New York, USA
Client: LG Constructors Inc. A subsidiary of CH2M HILL
Owner: Empire Generating Co, LLC
Category: Acoustic building
Market Segment: Power Generation |
ATCO Structures & Logistics was selected by LG Constructors to design, fabricate, construct and guarantee the noise control for the 535MW combined cycle natural gas powered Empire Generating Project. The project included acoustical consulting services and design, supply and install of:
- One (1) steam turbine building
- One (1) combustion turbine building housing two turbines
- Two (2) fuel gas compressor buildings
- Two (2) sound barrier walls
- Pipe rack
- Steel floors
- Steel deck
- HRSG stacks complete with silencers
The project was one of the first projects accepted into New York state's voluntary Brownfield Cleanup Program
Acoustical Performance Target:
The project was to meet the following stringent spectral sound level limits at critical receptors, the closest of which is 840ft. east of the project:
