Shuwaikh Power was a fast-track delivery project with a 6-month completion timeframe from ground breaking to commissioning. The order for six 45’ bypass stacks was received in mid-January 2007, and the equipment was shipped at the end of March. This eleven-week turnaround was possible due to our extensive experience with GE LM6000 systems, and our strong relationship with manufacturing partners.
Technical Specifications: Exhaust systems for six GE LM6000 Combustion Turbines
Site: 200 MW simple cycle, natural gas peaking power plant
Acoustic Requirements: 59 dBA at 400 ft from each stack 85 dBA at 3 ft from stack, 5 ft above grade
Scope of work: Design, manufacture and supply of six complete exhaust systems; expansion joint, base module and custom-designed silencing for 45’ exhaust stack.
In September 2007, a second order from Alghanim International Trading & Contracting was received for four GE LM6000 Exhaust systems and twelve GE LM6000 Exhaust system stack extensions for use at two separate sites in Kuwait. Acoustic requirements and design considerations identical to Shuwaikh.
