ATCO Structures & Logistics was selected by the Fort McKay First Nation to design, supply and install a pre-engineered year round hockey arena. The building includes:
- ATCO proprietary wall and roof assemblies
- Two (2) roll-up doors
- Engineered heating and ventilation systems
- Engineered electrical system
- Site grading and leveling
- Built-in masonry wall change rooms
- Refrigeration ice plant to create the skating surface year-round
ATCO Structures & Logistics also provided and installed the hockey arena’s glass vestibule, concession, score board and sound system.
Project Challenges:
The primary challenge on this project was weather. Due to the project’s location and construction continuing through winter, ASL had to combat blowing snow and temperatures dropping to -55C.
