Exhaust Bypass Retrofit - Kallpa Energy Center

ATCO Structures & Logistics supplied Kallpa 1 & 2 sites with simple cycle exhaust systems in 2006 & 2008. We were later approached by the owner and worked closely with them and their selected EPC, POSCO, to re-use as much of the systems as possible, while converting them to bypass systems. Ease of installation was a key consideration due to a very small window available for time of conversion.

TECHNICAL:

Retrofit current site to include exhaust systems with bypass stacks for 2 Siemens SGT6-5000F combustion turbines.

Acoustic:
At night time < 70 dBA at 1m from outside the plant’s perimeter wall.

Damper:
Automatic hydraulic operated with fully close or open in 120 seconds.

SCOPE OF WORK:

Design, supply and installation assistance to retrofit two exhaust systems complete with bypass stacks; diverter damper c/w guillotine damper, vertical silencer duct, 135 ft circular stack, ladders and platform, personnel protection, and steady burn aircraft warning lights.
