Haiti

ATCO Structures & Logistics has built in Haiti facilities designed to sustain 209 km winds for resistance against Category 3 hurricanes. Each structure was built after Haiti’s devastating earthquake in January 2010 and are prime examples of ATCO’s experience in providing disaster relief.

These self-contained, flexible membrane structures feature metal ribs and include air-conditioning, portable toilets, desks and office supplies, and primary and back-up power generators. The facilities were built under budget and required construction crews to overcome adverse conditions to achieve their objectives.

The project includes facilities on sites in or near Port-au-Prince on the grounds of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, and the former United States Embassy site. The three facilities provide offices for 280 civil servants serving in the ministries of Planning, Health and Agriculture.

ATCO has two additional contracts in Haiti:
• The Caribbean Development Bank has contracted ATCO to provide temporary offices for Government of Haiti agencies.
• The Canadian Commercial Corporation awarded a contract to ATCO to provide temporary classroom facilities for Haiti’s national police academy.
